House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., is prioritizing passage of a major infrastructure bill because surface-transportation funding runs out next year. DeFazio is aiming big for resilient infrastructure and fossil fuel reduction, despite lacking support from President Donald Trump, but DeFazio is hopeful Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., and the House Ways and Means Committee will find a way to pay for the initiative.  Roll Call

This week, federal officials announced the winners of its annual BUILD grant; Nashville, for the second year in a row, was not one of them. City officials applied for a $10.7 million in Department of Transportation grant money to build a North Nashville Transit Center on Clarksville Pike. According to the grant proposal, the center would be "a new neighborhood mobility center designed specifically to create and enhance multimodal transportation options and connections in North Nashville."
