USDOT Awards Nearly $1B for Infrastructure Investment Projects | Transportation Today
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will fund 20 projects in 20 states totaling nearly $1 billion through its Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) discretionary grant program.... $11.2 million to the Tennessee Department of Transportation to install 143 miles of fiber optic communication between Memphis and Nashville.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation will use an $11.2 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America grant from to install a fiber optic intelligent transportation system along the Interstate 40 corridor between Memphis and Nashville. The system will feature cameras, road weather sensors, dynamic messaging technology and connected vehicle roadside units.  Full Story: CDLLife

It appears that it could, at least in part. An unidentified company has entered talks over the future of the imperiled Oneida-to-Devonia rail line, which RJ Corman is seeking to abandon.


House Committee Approves Infrastructure Bill | ASCE SmartBrief
The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has approved a bill that would provide $494 billion in infrastructure funding during the next five years.
