Study Highlights Transit Key to Economic Recovery Post COVID-19 | Fox17
As Middle Tennessee starts to reopen and people head back to work, a national study says there’s two things that can help our economy recover faster: focusing on road projects that create jobs, and funding public transportation. The study comes from Transportation for America. It compared the COVID-19 economic recovery to the one from 2009, and what the nation could do better. The CEO of The Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee said Nashville can learn from this. “Nothing is going to rebuild an economy faster than having access to convenient and frequent transit,” CEO Jessica Dauphin said.

Senate Bill Would Help Rural Areas Access DOT Funding | ASCE SmartBrief
Senate commerce committee Chairman Roger Wicker, R-Miss., has introduced a bill designed to help rural communities overcome financial, technical and legal obstacles they might encounter while accessing financing tools from the Transportation Department. The bill would set up a pilot website that offers pointers on the application process, receives applications and issues notices on applications.  Full Story: Transport Topics
