Lee, TDEC Announce $44.1 Million in Loans for Nashville Water Infrastructure Improvements (and others) | Press Release
Gov. Bill Lee and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Commissioner David Salyers today announced three loans totaling $44.1 million for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to improve water infrastructure. The three loans for Nashville are among six approved by the Tennessee Local Development Authority, with a loan for the Town of Caryville and the Caryville-Jackson Utilities Commission for $493,000 and two loans for the Town of Huntland totaling $3.9 million, making the six loans total $48.5 million

A dam failure that has flooded several communities in Michigan is not unusual, given that the US experiences an average of 10 failures annually, says Lori Spragens, executive director of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.
